Granite Bay Software

You May Qualify For a Free License

GBTimelapse is a new product that was developed using Canon Software Development Kit (SDK) for EOS and PowerShot cameras and is able to control all Canon cameras that are compatible with the SDK and support remote capture. Cameras shown in red in the table below will not work with GBTimelapse because they do not support remote capture.

Since we are unable to test all possible camera models, so we are looking for some help. If you have a Canon camera that hasn't been tested yet and are the first to test GBTimelapse, you are eligible to receive a free license.

How To Get Your Free License

(1)  GBTimelapse does not support RAW (or lossless) image capture for EOS or PowerShot cameras.
(2)  Some camera models require Windows XP. Please test GBTimelapse with your camera on your computer before purchasing.
(3)  Remote capture support for new models is expected from Canon with their next SDK release (twice per year, June and December).
(4)  These Canon cameras do not support remote capture.
Other unlisted camera models may work just fine. If you have an unlisted camera, please give it a try and let us know.

Step 2: Download and install GBTimelapse on your computer.

Step 3: Test GBTimelapse with your camera by capturing at least one image for each image size supported by your camera (for example: Large, Medium1, Medium2, Small).

Step 4: Verify that GBTimelapse has captured an image of each size by looking at the GBTimelapse Preferences under the Camera tab. You should see all image sizes listed with their pixel dimensions.

If any sizes say "Unknown", go back and capture an image for that size.

Step 5: Exit from GBTimelapse. Upon exiting, it saves an XML data file in the "Cameras" folder where you installed GBTimelapse. The file is named "PowerShot_XXXX_Profile.xml", where "XXXX" is the model of your camera. This file contains data about your camera's features and the image sizes, but does not include any information about you or your photographs.

You will need to attach this file to the email message you will send in Step 6.

Step 6: Email a written summary of your experience and attach the XML data file created for your camera by GBTimelapse. Let us know if GBTimelapse controlled your camera properly and operated as expected.
Send the email with attached xml file to "support [at] granitebaysoftware.com"

Step 7: If you are the first to test your model, you will be given a free serial number.
