GBTimelapse Windows 7 and Vista Compatibility

Although GBTimelapse was designed for Windows XP, it will work on both Windows 7 and Vista with some newer Canon cameras. Older Canon cameras require Windows XP.

Canon has not yet release a SDK for Windows 7, so we cannot be sure that every camera will work. Some models work with 32-bit Windows 7, but not 64-bit.

If you have Windows 7, you must try your camera with GBTimelapse before purchase.

Running GBTimelapse on Windows 7

When GBTimelapse starts you may see this screen. Just click on the "Yes" button.

Alternatively you can turn off "User Account Control" on you computer and avoid seeing the screen when GBTimelapse starts.

Running GBTimelapse on Vista

Set GBTimelapse to run in Windows XP compatibility mode.

Setting the Compatibility Mode

  • Install GBTimelapse
  • Use Windows Explorer to find the file GBTimelapse.exe in the folder "C:\Program Files\Granite Bay Software\GBTimelapse"
  • Right mouse click on GBTimelapse.exe and select Properties
  • Check the box named "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and select "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" from the drop down list.
  • Click Apply and then OK
